The Surroundings
The villa is situated on the golf resort “Castro Marim”. On the resort is an 18 holes golf course with a beautiful Clubhouse with 3 terraces, 2 restaurants, work out facilities and golf professionals to help to improve your handicap.
The region is not overcrowded with tourists, but offers you all kind of facilities for an unforgettable holiday; beaches, golf courses, restaurants and shops are all nearby. With views over the Guadiana river and towards the Atlantic Ocean, the resort is next to a great and important Natural Resort, which you can visit and enjoy the special flora and fauna.
Golf Resort "Castro Marim"
Castro Marim exists already since the Roman domination. The ruins of the Castle are located at the North side of the city. While the remains of the 17th century Forte de so Sebastian is situated on the hills at the south.
The resort has its own beach club.
Vila Real de St. Antonio
Only a few kilometres away from the resort lies the small city of Vila Real de Santo Antonio (VRSA). It is located directed on the river Guadiana, the border river between Portugal and Spain. With a ferry there is an easy connection to Ayamonte, which is located on the other side of the river. The river ends in the Atlantic Ocean, where is a beautiful sand beach only 2 km from the centre of VRSA. In the daytime there is a lot to do in the cosy shopping centre of VRSA, while in the evening there are a lot of good options for nice dining in the restaurants with still the typical Portuguese atmosphere.
Tavira
The city of Tavira is centrally located in the East-Algarve and some 25 km from our Golf resort. Tavira is known by the “connoisseurs” as the ‘Queen of the Algarve’ with its renaissance façades, the historical citadel, more then 20 churches and the with palms surrounded squares. It is for sure worth a visit. There is a covered market, typical Portuguese shops and restaurants. The magnificent beach is located on an island and during summer there is a shuttle ferry to bring you to the island.
Besides all the beauty on the Portuguese sides, trips to nearby Spain are also very advisable. Ayamonte is a typical Andalusian city only 5 km away, while visiting Seville is of high interest. Seville is around 100 km away and was recently the cultural capital of Europe.
